Terms of Service

1. Agreement

By accessing rootsofnortheast.com or using any service provided by Roots of Northeast (ROne), you agree to these Terms of Service. If you are entering into these terms on behalf of an educational institution, you represent that you have authority to bind that institution.

2. Services

ROne provides school ERP software, AI facial attendance systems, RFID attendance hardware, portable biometric devices, library automation, and digital marketing services to educational institutions across Northeast India. Specific terms for each service are defined in the respective service agreement signed with each institution.

3. Acceptable Use

You agree not to:

• Use our systems for any purpose other than managing institutional operations.
• Attempt to reverse-engineer, decompile, or extract source code from ROne software.
• Share login credentials with unauthorised individuals.
• Use our systems in violation of any applicable Indian law, including the DPDP Act 2023.
• Attempt to access data belonging to other institutions.

4. Data Ownership

All student records, attendance data, fee records, and institutional data entered into ROne systems remain the property of the institution. ROne acts as a data processor on behalf of the institution and does not claim ownership over any institutional data. Upon termination of service, all institutional data will be exported and deleted from ROne servers within 30 days upon request.

5. Service Availability

ROne targets 99.9% system uptime across all deployments. Planned maintenance windows will be communicated with at least 24 hours notice. ROne is not liable for outages caused by force majeure events, third-party infrastructure failures, or circumstances outside our reasonable control.

6. Intellectual Property

All software, algorithms, hardware designs, and content on rootsofnortheast.com are the intellectual property of Roots of Northeast. Nothing in these terms grants you any rights to our intellectual property beyond the right to use our services as described in your service agreement.

7. Limitation of Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by Indian law, ROne's total liability to any institution for any claim arising from our services shall not exceed the fees paid by that institution in the three months preceding the claim. ROne is not liable for indirect, incidental, or consequential damages.

8. Governing Law

These terms are governed by the laws of India. Any disputes arising under these terms shall be subject to the jurisdiction of the courts of Kokrajhar, Assam, India.

9. Changes to Terms

ROne reserves the right to update these Terms of Service. Material changes will be communicated to active institutional clients via email with 30 days notice. Continued use of our services after the effective date constitutes acceptance of the revised terms.
