Library Automation
ROne's library automation system uses RFID tags on books and RFID cards for members to fully automate the circulation process, issuing, returns, renewals, reservations, and inventory audits. Staff no longer manually record each transaction. The system does it when the book passes the RFID reader.
Overdue alerts are sent automatically to the student or staff member via SMS. Inventory audits that previously took two staff members a full week now take a single staff member a few hours, scanning with a handheld reader. The entire catalogue is searchable in real time, and member borrowing history is available instantly.

Common questions
How long does a library inventory audit take with RFID?
A full inventory audit of a 5,000-book library that previously required two staff members over 5-7 days now takes a single staff member 4-6 hours using the handheld RFID scanner. The scanner reads RFID tags on books through shelves without removing individual books, the librarian walks the aisles and the system records what is present, what is missing, and what is misplaced.
What happens when a book is returned late?
The system sends an automated SMS overdue alert to the borrower when the return date passes. Follow-up alerts can be configured at set intervals (3 days, 7 days, etc.). Fine amounts are calculated automatically based on the configured rate and added to the member's account. Staff do not need to manually chase overdue books.
Can the library system connect to the school's student database?
Yes. ROne's library automation integrates directly with the School ERP student and staff records. When a student or staff member is registered in the ERP, their library membership is created automatically. Withdrawals and suspensions from the ERP propagate to the library system.
